Nagoshi Studio now appears as “permanently closed” on Google Maps, fueling speculation about the studio’s future and its upcoming project, Gang of Dragon.
The discovery was first shared by a Reddit user, where fans noticed that the Google Maps listing had been updated. At the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from Nagoshi Studio or parent company NetEase regarding whether the listing accurately reflects the studio’s status.
The latest development comes shortly after Nagoshi Studio’s official website went offline. Users attempting to access the English-language site are currently unable to reach the page. Earlier reports also noted that the studio’s official YouTube channel had disappeared, with trailers and promotional videos for Gang of Dragon no longer publicly available.
Speculation surrounding the studio intensified following claims that NetEase planned to reduce investment across parts of its gaming business. Bloomberg previously reported that employees at Nagoshi Studio had been informed funding would end in May.
Gang of Dragon was announced in late 2025 as the debut project from Nagoshi Studio after Toshihiro Nagoshi left Sega in 2021. The game was described as a cinematic action-adventure experience set in Tokyo’s Kabukicho district with a crime-focused story.
