The player base and revenue of GTA Online on PlayStation platforms are almost twice of that of PC and Xbox platforms combined, according to the recent Rockstar Games leak.

A recent data breach of Rockstar Games’ company information by known hacker group ShinyHunter has led to details on the player base and revenue split (via GTAForums member Lexiture) for GTA Online across all platforms getting leaked, and the stats are overwhelmingly in favor of PlayStation!

According to the leaked data, the PS5 and PS4 dominate both player engagement and spending in GTA Online. The PS5 alone records approximately 3.47 million weekly active users, generating over $4.48 million in weekly bookings. Meanwhile, the PS4 contributes an additional 1.88 million users and nearly $1 million in weekly revenue. Overall, the PlayStation platforms account for well over 5 million weekly players and roughly $5.4 million in bookings.

Meanwhile, Xbox and PC platforms fall significantly behind PlayStation, even when combined. Xbox Series X and Xbox One together total just over 2.15 million weekly users, with total bookings of around $2.78 million. PC trails even further, with under 900,000 weekly players and approximately $264,000 in bookings. When combined, Xbox and PC platforms still fail to match PlayStation’s total, with the latter’s ecosystem nearly doubling its competitors in both engagement and monetization.

The overall activity comparison between Red Dead Online and GTA Online also highlights the latter’s significance for Rockstar Games. GTA Online averages close to 10 million active users, peaking at over 15 million, with nearly 400,000 paying users on average. In comparison, Red Dead Online operates at a much smaller scale, with under 1 million average users and a significantly lower number of paying players.

Geographically, the United States leads by a wide margin in total revenue for GTA Online, generating over $153 million during the tracked period. The United Kingdom and Germany follow at a distant second and third, with $25 million and $15.7 million respectively. Other noteworthy markets include Australia, France, and Canada, each contributing between $8 to 9 million.
