It appears that Rockstar Games’ GTA The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is getting closer to its release on Steam.
A new Steam database update indicates that Rockstar Games’ is swiftly working on the Steam release of GTA The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. There’s no detailed information available regarding the changes that were made in the database update. However, it appears that Rockstar Games has added a new internal Steam package, which adds all three GTA titles into a bundle.
Given the frequent activity, it’s likely that an official announcement regarding the Steam release will be made sometime very soon. The update to GTA The Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s game files was made not long ago on January 10, 2023. It was recently also discovered that the Steam configuration had been added to the Engine.ini file of the PC version of GTA The Trilogy in update 1.04.5.
As exciting it is to know that the game may arrive on Steam soon, Rockstar Games will likely need to significantly improve the state of the game before putting it on the storefront. The game will require a large list of new fixes and major improvements, or it risks getting many negative reviews from users.
Update 1.06 for GTA The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was recently rolled out across all platforms. Based on the patch notes, it brought several gameplay changes and bug fixes. In addition, the update also brought improvements to game stability. Several issues continued to linger since the previous major patch that the game received, and updated 1.06 was said to have addressed some of the more glaring ones.
Previously, it was reported that the developer behind the Rockstar Games’ GTA Trilogy had quietly been changed after the game’s disastrous launch. Grove Street Games no longer appears to be the developer behind the GTA Trilogy, based on a post on LinkedIn by the studio’s CEO, Thomas Williamson.
