Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available for the PS4 and PS5. It is an impressive-looking game that features some cutting-edge visuals.
The PS5 version of the game offers two different modes. One is the quality mode that renders at 4K resolution and runs at 30 FPS. The other is the performance mode that renders at 1080p resolution and runs at 60 FPS.
While the performance mode offers double the frame rate on the PS5 compared to the PS4, the resolution is reduced in this mode along with some of the visual features. As a result, you are looking at a game with reduced effects. As for the PS4 version, it renders at 1080p resolution on the PS4 and sub-4K on the PS4 Pro. The effects are also pared down on the PS4. Depth-of-field is more pronounced on the PS5 compared to the PS4.
One of the biggest differences is the load time. In the case of PS5, you barely have to wait for a few seconds while the loading can take up to a minute on the PS4. Other improvements include better draw distance, improved texture, and character details, and slightly improved shadow quality.
Overall, the game still holds up well on the PS4 in side-by-side comparison as the video above highlights. You can get an enjoyable experience out of it so if you are looking for a PS5 just to play this one, there is no need to hurry for it.
