Halo Campaign Evolved Update Will Bring A Much Requested Feature

Halo Campaign Evolved is set to receive a new game update next week, bringing several fixes and improvements to the remake’s campaign. The update includes changes to Sgt. Johnson designed to prevent blocked mission progression, alongside improvements to Jackal stagger behaviour.

The update also makes several quality of life changes, including new options to disable Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain. Marines and Flood Marines will also fire their Assault Rifles when the Magnified Skull is active, while additional stability improvements are being made across multiple platforms.

Gameplay Fixes and Improvements

  • Sgt. Johnson has received improvements designed to prevent blocked mission progression.
  • Jackals can now be staggered more reliably when players target their hands and feet.
  • Marines will now fire their Assault Rifles when the Magnified Skull is activated.
  • Flood Marines will now fire their Assault Rifles when the Magnified Skull is activated.

Visual Settings

  • Players can now disable Chromatic Aberration.
  • Players can now disable Film Grain.

Stability Improvements

  • Additional stability improvements are being introduced across multiple platforms.

Saved Progress Warning

  • Downloading the update will invalidate mid-mission saved progress.
  • Unlocked Missions will be retained.
  • Unlocked Rally Points will be retained.

Halo Campaign Evolved was released on July 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. The game is developed by Halo Studios and is a standalone remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign.
