A new rumour has revealed more details about the reported LEGO PlayStation 1 set, including its size, price, release date and two game-themed dioramas. The set is reportedly numbered 72306, contains 1,911 pieces and will launch on October 1 for $160.
According to information shared by Brick Tap, the model will recreate the original PlayStation at close to a 1:1 scale. The build is reportedly around 26cm wide and 17cm tall when opened, with the set also including the original-style PlayStation controller without analogue sticks.
The LEGO PlayStation 1 set is also said to feature pull-out sections on its sides containing small dioramas based on Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. The model will reportedly include additional Easter eggs and various pieces designed specifically to reference the original console and its games.
The latest information follows an earlier report from LEGO YouTuber Brick Clicker, who claimed that set 72306 would contain 1,911 pieces and cost around $160 or £140. That report also suggested that additional game-related accessories could be included.
The reported release is expected to be accompanied by LEGO set 40899, an Astro Bot model offered as a gift with qualifying purchases through LEGO Stores and LEGO.com while supplies last. The pricing and other details remain subject to change, as the information has not been officially confirmed by LEGO or PlayStation.
