Based on the listing, the chosen candidate will build tools within UE5, along with any necessary work to interface with external content creation tools, proactively identify the tools that will be needed throughout development, participate in the design of the game features to assist in the creation of supporting tools and technologies, and improve existing pipelines and tools to decrease iteration times for content creators.

Hangar 13 is made up of seasoned professionals from a variety of studios who have shipped hundreds of titles in a wide range of genres. The studio has presence in various parts of the world, including Novato, California, Brighton, United Kingdom, and Brno Prague, Czech Republic, and is comprised of developers with diverse backgrounds. As a single international team, it collaborates across all 4 locations to create games. Each of the studio’s locations offers developers the chance to work on high-end, AAA console titles in a welcoming environment.

The previous entry in the Mafia series, Mafia 3, is a 2016 action adventure game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. It was released in October 2016 for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One, in May 2017 for macOS, and in October 2021 for Google Stadia. It is the follow-up to Mafia 2. The narrative focuses on Vietnam veteran and former criminal Lincoln Clay in the fictional city of New Bordeaux (based on New Orleans) in 1968. Clay is compelled to return to a life of crime in order to assist his adoptive family in resolving issues with the local Mafia.
