Modern Warfare 2 Beta Release Date Leaked By Amazon

The release date for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta has apparently been leaked via the game’s store page on Amazon. Previously Activision Blizzard had announced that those who pre-order a copy of the game are entitled to early access to the Open Beta.

The store page for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Amazon mentions the release date of August 15, 2022 for the Open Beta. It states that all those who pre-order the game by this date will unlock early access to the Beta.

While this is by no means a confirmation of the release date for Modern Warfare 2’s Open Beta, it does seem to be accurate, given that the game is hitting store shelves on October 28, 2022. The multiplayer Beta for Call of Duty games have typically taken place 2 months prior to their respective launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is the sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which was released in 2019. On October 25, 2019, the latter was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the sixteenth installment in the Call of Duty series and a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series.

The previous game took place in a realistic modern-day setting. The campaign featured a CIA officer and British SAS soldiers as they fought Russian invaders and Al-Qatala terrorists alongside rebels from the fictitious country of Urzikstan. The game’s Special Ops mode provided cooperative play missions that followed the plot.

The multiplayer mode allowed for cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform progression for the first time in the series. It was designed to make the gameplay more tactical, and it contained additional features such as a Realism mode that turned off the HUD and a 64-player version of the Ground War mode. As a post-launch upgrade, Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale mode, was also added to the game.
