PlaySide Studios has shared new sales figures for MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, revealing that the retro-inspired shooter has sold approximately 730,000 copies across all platforms since launch.

The update comes from the company’s latest investor report, which positions the game as one of PlaySide’s biggest publishing successes to date. According to the report, console sales now account for 50% of total units sold, suggesting the title has expanded well beyond its initial PC audience and found significant traction on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.

Financially, PlaySide estimates that MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has generated roughly US$21.4 million in gross platform sales, equivalent to around A$29.7 million. After accounting for platform fees, taxes, refunds, and other deductions, the company says it has recorded approximately US$13 million, or A$18.1 million, in net revenue before royalties.

The report also highlights continued growth in player interest following launch. Total wishlists across platforms have reportedly climbed to 3 million, up from 2.08 million during the previous market update and 1.73 million at launch. PlaySide views the continued increase as an important indicator for long-term sales performance, particularly during future promotions and updates.

Player reception has remained strong as well. According to the company, the game currently holds a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam with a 94% review score, while also maintaining strong ratings on PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.

PlaySide additionally confirmed that the game has already recouped its publishing-related expenses, including milestone payments, marketing costs, and publishing investments. The company stated that future sales are now expected to contribute more directly toward profitability and cash flow.

The commercial performance of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has also led PlaySide to raise its FY26 revenue guidance. The company now expects annual revenue between A$50 million and A$53 million, compared to earlier projections that only targeted growth beyond FY25’s A$48.7 million result.

PlaySide said the improved outlook was driven largely by stronger-than-expected unit sales and ongoing wishlist conversion across both PC and console platforms.

CEO Benn Skender described the title’s performance as evidence of the “strength of the IP” and highlighted the game’s player engagement and long-term support plans. According to the report, PlaySide intends to continue supporting MOUSE: P.I. For Hire throughout its lifecycle, suggesting additional updates, promotions, or future franchise expansion may already be under consideration.
