NetherRealm Studios has apparently been working on an “unannounced AAA title” for nearly 6 years, and all signs point to Injustice 3.
According to the LinkedIn profile of Collider Craftworks producer Alfredo Ciaffoni, he has been working in the role of a senior producer on an “unannounced AAA title” for Warner Bros and NetherRealm since January, 2021. He serves as a nexus between the game’s development team and Collider Craftworks. The company also worked alongside the developer during the development of Mortal Kombat 1.
While the producer’s resume doesn’t delve into detail about the AAA title in development at Warner Bros and NetherRealm, prior signs point to it being Injustice 3. Back in August, 2025, voice actors Phil LaMarr and George Newbern, who play Green Lantern and Superman in the Injustice series, respectively, apparently told fans that Injustice 3 was in development. Twitter/X user DannySoul0 met LaMarr at Nostalgia Con in Houston and asked the actor to sign his Injustice 2 steelbook. Upon signing the steelbook and returning it, LaMarr reportedly said, “You know, they’re making another one. They’re doing Injustice 3.” Similarly, Twitter/X user Brendan_Batman got the opportunity to meet George Newbern. The Superman voice actor revealed to the fan that he’s currently working on Injustice 3.
Earlier in May, 2025, known MultiVersus leaker multiversusie and data miner hinted that Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios had been working on Injustice 3. The insider took to Twitter/X to share a cryptic message regarding the unfortunate discontinuation of Player First Games’ free-to-play crossover fighting game, MultiVersus. They said, “Multiversus shutting down is an injustice, then doing it all again is another injustice leaving me without any leaks is yet again another injustice.” In their short follow-up tweet, they stated the number “3”, implying that Injustice 3 was in the works.
During an AMA session earlier in November, 2022, , creative director and team lead at NetherRealm, Ed Boon, had stated at the time that the studio’s next project would be either of a new Mortal Kombat game and Injustice 3. It ended up being the former, which indicates that the latter is next in line.
