A new Genshin Impact datamine is fueling fresh speculation that HoYoverse may finally be preparing a version of the game for Nintendo Switch 2.
According to information shared by reliable dataminer Lunar Kuroo, internal beta files for the game now include references to Nintendo account linking systems. The dataminer stated, “As of 6.5.50, a Nintendo Switch account Login Manager has been added to the game, at least internally.”
Another message shared by the dataminer referenced a prompt reading, “New Nintendo Switch account user, need to bind HoYoverse account.”
The discovery has quickly attracted attention because a similar account-linking leak reportedly appeared before HoYoverse officially announced Genshin Impact for Xbox platforms.
While HoYoverse has not officially confirmed a Nintendo Switch 2 version, fans have speculated for years that the game could eventually move to Nintendo’s newer hardware instead of the original Switch.
Genshin Impact was first announced for Nintendo Switch back in January 2020 through an official teaser trailer, but the port has remained absent despite multiple updates over the years. Industry speculation has frequently pointed toward technical limitations with the original Switch hardware, particularly as the game’s world size, graphical demands, and storage requirements have continued increasing.
Many players believe Nintendo Switch 2 hardware would provide a more suitable platform for the open-world RPG, especially compared to the aging original console architecture.
Developed by HoYoverse, Genshin Impact launched in 2020 and became one of the gaming industry’s biggest live-service successes. The free-to-play action RPG features a large open world inspired by fantasy anime aesthetics, elemental combat mechanics, and an ongoing live-service expansion model built around its gacha-based character system.
