New Ori Game Rumoured For 2026 Announcement

A new Ori game is reportedly in development and could be announced later this year, according to comments from industry insider NateTheHate. However, the insider has clarified that he does not currently know whether the game will be shown at Gamescom.

NateTheHate previously referred to an upcoming project when discussing a rumoured Xbox-related announcement. He has now confirmed that the game he was referring to is a new Ori title, although its appearance at Gamescom remains uncertain.

“A new Ori is what I was referring to. I do not have confirmation whether it will or won’t be at Gamescom, yet,” NateTheHate said.

Details about the developer are less certain. Resetera user, Kiri_Kis557, claimed that the new Ori game is being developed by one of Saber Interactive’s divisions. According to the claim, the project was originally being prepared for an Xbox Developer Direct later in the year, meaning a Gamescom appearance could potentially be limited to a teaser.

MercurySteam has also been mentioned among the possible developers, although there is currently no confirmation connecting the Spanish studio to the project.

The reports suggest development is already relatively advanced, leading to speculation that the new Ori game could be officially announced before the end of 2026. Neither Xbox nor the developers reportedly linked to the project have confirmed the game at this stage.

The Ori series currently consists of Ori and the Blind Forest, released in 2015, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which followed in 2020. Both games were developed by Moon Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, earning widespread praise for their platforming, visual presentation and emotional storytelling.
