Next Kingdom Come Game May Miss Early 2027 Release Window Following Warhorse Cyberattack, Rumour Claims

by Salal Awan

Warhorse Studios could resolve the fallout from its recent cyberattack within a week, but its next Kingdom Come game may miss the first half of 2027, according to an unverified insider claim shared on Reddit. Neither development has been confirmed by the studio.

The information comes from Reddit user u/bertik11 on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, who claims to have a source close to Warhorse. According to the post, the studio expects to resume normal operations relatively soon, while the next Kingdom Come project is unlikely to arrive during the first six months of 2027.

The source instead expects the game to appear at a major European gaming event in summer 2027, with its release planned for a later date. The Reddit user claimed to know which event could host the announcement but declined to identify it. They also stressed that the information remains unverified.

Warhorse confirmed it had suffered a cyberattack on October 27, revealing that unauthorised parties had accessed company systems and data. In a follow-up update published on October 30, the studio said the incident had affected some internal systems and services. It was still investigating whether personal information had been compromised and confirmed that it wouldn’t conduct interviews while the investigation continued.

The latest release speculation also differs from an earlier claim by the same Reddit user. In that post, they suggested that a rumoured Kingdom Come spin-off was already undergoing testing and could launch in the first half of 2027. However, the user cautioned that being in testing doesn’t mean development is complete and that release windows can change. They had also previously shared information about a free upgrade for Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

The earlier post discussed another unannounced project connected to Middle-earth Enterprises. According to the source, people involved in the Lord of the Rings game had been meeting in Europe, potentially in Amsterdam or Berlin, to review development progress. The project was said to be approaching full production, with discussions allegedly dating back several years before its public reveal. The source estimated that development could take another five to six years.

Warhorse Studios was founded in Prague in 2011 by Dan Vávra and Martin Klíma. The studio released Kingdom Come: Deliverance in 2018, followed by its sequel in early 2025.
