One of the free games to be offered through PlayStation’s subscription service, PS Plus, for the month of July, 2023, may already have been leaked.
The possible new addition to either PS Plus Essential or PS Plus Extra during the month of July, 2023 is none other than Ebb Software’s survival horror game, Scorn. The game’s official Twitter account has been giving away some rather cryptic hints that suggest this possibility.
The first tweet reads:
I am a variable, mysterious, and unknown, I leave my mark, a treasure shown.
The 24th of my kind, my power multiplies, a target, a letter of only two lines.
X is the 24th letter of the alphabet, is comprised on only two lines, and represents a target (X marks the spot).
The second tweet contains a Morse code that spells out as “Circle”. This can be verified by following the link here, typing “circle” in, and playing back the audio and comparing it to the one from the tweet.
The third and final tweet reads:
In shadows cast and darkness deep,
A shape emerges from secrets to keep.
Three edges meet, they intertwine,
Within their grasp, sorrow does entwine.
The Triangle represents a shape with three edges.
When put together, the 3 shapes appear to be from 4 PlayStation symbols. It’s currently missing a Square, suggesting that the game’s official Twitter account will be sharing another hint sometime soon. Given that Scorn is a current-gen only game, as it was originally released for Xbox Series X|S and PC, these hints imply that a PS5 release is right around the corner.
The original release date for the survivor horror title was October 14, 2022, and it had been available on Xbox Game Pass since launch. A potential PS5 release looks like a good opportunity for the game to be added to the PS Plus Extra catalog or the PS Plus Essential lineup for the month of July, 2023. That said, it remains to be seen whether this will actually be the case.
