Given that Moon Studios was in charge of developing the previous entries in the Ori series, it seems unlikely that another studio is going to be handling the development of Ori 3. According to the leaker, he has received confirmation regarding the development of Ori 3 from different sources, and all of them provided him with the same information.

Going by the success of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a third entry seems like a no-brainer for all parties involved. However, only time will tell whether this information is accurate. As with all such rumors, we urge our readers also to take this one with a grain of salt.

The previous entry in the Ori series, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a platform-adventure Metroidvania video game developed by Moon Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios. The direct sequel to 2015’s Ori and the Blind Forest was revealed during E3 2017, and it was released in March 2020 for Windows and Xbox One. Meanwhile, Iam8bit published the Nintendo Switch version in September 2020, and the Xbox Series X/S version was made available as a launch title in November 2020.

The main character of the series, Ori, is followed on his journey in a brand-new region called Niwen. The game maintains narrative continuity with Blind Forest. Moon Studios, a Vienna-based studio with global contributors worked on the game. The sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest features new melee combat as well as 3D models and multilayered backgrounds in place of the original’s 2D artwork.
