Persona 3 Reload Shatters Sales Records, Becomes ATLUS’ Fastest-Selling Game

Persona 3 Reload has sold over one million units worldwide in just seven days, making it the fastest-selling title for ATLUS.

Even though it was available on Xbox Game Pass at launch for both console and PC, the game appears to have done well. It was able to chart in the best sellers on Steam despite stiff competition from others including the recently released Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Granblue Rising: Relink. This is despite the higher price tag of the game, which launched at $69.99 compared to $59.99 for Persona 5.

Persona brand has seen a surge in popularity since the launch of Persona 5 Royal. Atlus has also capitalized on this popularity by making more spin-offs for Persona 5 and bringing the older games to modern platforms. They have released Persona 5 Tactica, and Persona 5 Strikers, and brought back the earlier games with Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 4 Arena, all being available on modern platforms.

Persona 3 Reload is a complete remake that revamps the original release with new visuals, improved gameplay, and modern UI. While the game appears to closely follow the original release, it misses out on a crucial element, which is The Answer. This epilogue was available for Persona 3 and featured a conclusion of the main story. Based on the rumors so far, this might be released as part of a DLC later down the line.

Atlus is also rumored to be working on a remake for Persona 4, in addition to the earlier Persona games like Persona 2. It remains to be seen when they will officially announce them, but they might be motivated to get more games out, especially after the massive success of Persona 3 Reload.

Persona 3 Reload is available on various platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It also appears to run well on the Steam Deck.
