Atlus has officially revealed Persona 6, giving fans their first look at the next mainline installment in the long-running role-playing franchise.

The announcement was made during the Xbox Games Showcase, where Atlus introduced the game with a debut trailer and confirmed that it is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The publisher also announced that the game will support Xbox Play Anywhere and launch through Xbox Game Pass.

The trailer description reveals that this new game will feature “a bold, new standalone story blending heartfelt daily life and new characters with pulse-pounding, supernatural adventure.” Atlus also emphasized that Persona 6 is being designed to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers to the series.

While the reveal trailer introduced the game’s premise and visual direction, Atlus did not share extensive details regarding the setting, characters, combat systems, or release timing. The company instead focused on establishing Persona 6 as the next major chapter in the franchise following the success of Persona 5 and its various spin-offs.

The announcement also follows months of speculation surrounding the project. Earlier rumors suggested that Persona 6 was targeting a September 2027 release window, though Atlus has not confirmed any launch date as part of the official reveal.

As with previous mainline entries, Persona 6 appears set to combine everyday social simulation elements with supernatural storytelling and turn-based role-playing gameplay. However, Atlus has yet to explain how the new title will evolve the formula established by its predecessors.
