The intro sequence leads to the PlayStation Store page for GTA VI, where those interested can place their pre-order for either of the Standard and Ultimate editions. The promo reads, “Experience the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet. Pre-order now.” The PlayStation Store section of the PS5 system menu also features GTA VI in a major way, promoting the various benefits of pre-ordering the game as well as purchasing the more expensive Ultimate edition.

While PS5 Welcome Screen backgrounds available for several titles, this is the first time Sony Interactive Entertainment has automatically set a background to promote a specific game. The closest case was when the PS5 Welcome Screen was changed to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.

PlayStation Exclusive Features

In the aforementioned PlayStation Blog post shared alongside the opening of GTA VI pre-orders, Sony Interactive Entertainment highlighted the ways in which the upcoming title will make extensive use of the DualSense wireless controller. According to the console maker, haptic feedback will provide responsive vibrations tied to player actions, while adaptive triggers will offer varying levels of resistance depending on gameplay situations.

The controller’s integrated speaker will also be used to deliver additional audio effects during key moments throughout Jason and Lucia’s story. Sony also highlighted support for Tempest 3D AudioTech, which it says will help bring the sounds of Leonida to life through more precise audio positioning. The technology is designed to enhance environmental awareness and immersion across the game world.

GTA VI is confirmed to be PS5 Pro Enhanced, though Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to announce its features.
