The Pokémon Company generated $15.7 billion in retail sales during 2025, up from $12 billion the previous year, according to newly released licensing figures.
The increase places Pokémon as the sixth-largest global licensor in the world, highlighting another year of strong commercial performance for the long-running franchise.
The latest retail sales milestone follows a series of recent updates from The Pokémon Company, which revealed continued growth across its core businesses. As of March 2026, worldwide shipments of Pokémon video games had surpassed 515 million units, an increase of around 26 million from the previously reported total of more than 489 million.
The company also confirmed that the Pokémon Trading Card Game has now exceeded 85 billion cards produced worldwide. The trading card game is currently available in 16 languages and distributed across more than 90 countries and regions.
Pokémon continues to be the highest-grossing media franchise of all time. According to a Civixplorer infographic published in December 2025, the franchise has generated an estimated $288 billion in lifetime revenue across video games, trading cards, toys, films, television, books and merchandise since its debut in the 1990s.
The latest retail sales figures underscore Pokémon’s continued global popularity, with the franchise maintaining its position as one of the world’s most valuable entertainment brands.
