Shimauchi further stated that the likelihood of a sequel to Pragmata is high, suggesting that Capcom may be looking to build the series into another blockbuster franchise with continued commercial success.

Capcom reported a strong start to its fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, revealing new sales milestones for Pragmata as well as Resident Evil Requiem alongside record first-quarter financial results. Pragmata was released during the quarter for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The new IP has sold now more than 2.5 million copies worldwide. According to the publisher, extensive promotional activities helped establish a fanbase for the title ahead of launch.

Meanwhile, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem has now sold more than 8 million units worldwide. According to the publisher, the game has continued to perform well following its launch in the previous fiscal year, with active pricing initiatives helping to sustain sales momentum.

The two games contributed to record Q1 results for the company. Between April 1 and June 30, 2026, Capcom reported net sales of ¥70.41 billion, up 54.7% year-on-year, while operating profit increased 66.9% to 41.05 billion Yen. Ordinary profit rose 81.1% to ¥41.45 billion, and net profit climbed 69.2% to ¥29.16 billion. The publisher maintained its full-year forecast, keeping its guidance at net sales of 210 billion Yen, operating profit of 83 billion Yen and net profit of 58 billion Yen despite the strong opening quarter.

Capcom also announced that Devil May Cry 5 has surpassed 14 million copies sold worldwide. The publisher attributed the milestone to the game’s Nintendo Switch 2 release, promotional pricing and increased visibility from the animated series.
