Sony has released a new PS5 system software update today that improves performance. The new update is reportedly under 900 MB in size.
If you have a PS5, you should be able to download a new system software update today. This will patch the PlayStation 5 to version 20.02-02.25.00. The previous update that was released on launch day was version 20.02-02.20.00.

There are no additional details regarding this update as of now. The official support page still has the old update listed so it has yet to be updated.
As we have covered earlier, there are a number of issues that the day one buyers are experiencing on their PlayStation 5. Some of these can be easily fixed with an update so it is possible that this could resolve some of the problems.
PlayStation 5 is currently available in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea. It will be released in some of the other countries on November 19. Sony is also delaying the launch of the console in countries like Indonesia and India from November to January.
