Psychonauts 2 Could Release In August According To Steam
Psychonauts 2 could get a release later in August based on the Steam upcoming games list that sorts a game by their internal release date.
As discovered and posted by a user on ResetEra forums, the game has been listed for a release in August. This listing implies that this could be the internal target for a release date by Double Fine.
As we reported earlier, the game is already rated in Brazil for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Series. There won’t be a native PS5 version for Psychonauts 2.
It was up for pre-load earlier this year that suggested that the game could be launching soon, but that appeared to be a mistake and the pre-load and listing of the game were taken down quickly.
Psychonauts 2 was originally kickstarted by Double Fine Productions. The game was announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. After the developers were acquired by Microsoft, they were still committed to releasing it on the PS4 due to the Kickstarter earlier.
While there is no official release date, the Steam upcoming games list suggests that this could arrive on August 25, 2021. This puts it in the Summer 2021 release window.
Microsoft will hold its Xbox E3 2021 showcase on June 13. There are many announcements expected during this showcase from Halo Infinite to Starfield. Psychonauts 2 is well-primed to get an announcement during this presentation.
