New details regarding Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Veronica have emerged through comments made by industry insider Dusk Golem, who claims the remake will make significant changes to the structure and presentation of the original game.

Responding to questions on social media, Dusk Golem stated that Resident Evil Veronica is a third-person title. The comment appears to clarify speculation surrounding the game’s perspective following its reveal at Summer Game Fest 2026.

The insider also suggested that fans should expect substantial changes compared to the 2000 original. When asked about a memorable action sequence involving Claire Redfield that some fans believed had been removed, Dusk Golem claimed the scene had not been cut entirely but relocated elsewhere in the game.

“They didn’t cut, it’s just moved. Be prepared for a LOT of things to be shifted around, remixed, reimagined, moved, etc.,” Dusk Golem wrote on X.

If accurate, the comments indicate that Capcom is taking a similar approach to previous Resident Evil remakes by preserving core story elements while altering the order, presentation, and execution of various scenes and gameplay segments.

Resident Evil Veronica was officially unveiled during Summer Game Fest 2026 and is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is being developed in Capcom’s RE Engine and serves as a ground-up remake of Resident Evil: Code: Veronica, featuring modernized gameplay systems, updated visuals, and a reimagined take on the original story.
