Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again reaffirmed the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI during a recent interview with YouTuber David Senra.
While discussing the pressure surrounding Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated title and the ongoing public demand for updates, Senra asked Zelnick how he deals with shifting timelines and constant speculation about the game’s release.
Zelnick responded to the question about the game’s release date by saying, “Well, no. No. It’s November 19th. I do know,” and later added, “Yeah. No, it’s been announced,” in response to the host’s misconception that the release date had not yet been revealed.
The conversation also touched on the game’s reported delays. Senra noted that GTA VI had been pushed back multiple times, to which Zelnick replied, “I think we’re about 18 months behind the original date. Okay. Not much more than that.”
Zelnick was also asked whether Grand Theft Auto is the most successful video game franchise of all time. While he avoided making a definitive claim, he stated, “I think in terms of the value of the IP, most people believe it’s the most valuable entertainment IP ever created.”
The executive additionally discussed the continued popularity of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online, crediting regular content updates and the strong social element of online gaming for keeping players engaged more than a decade after launch.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch worldwide on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired heavily by modern-day Florida, and marks the franchise’s return to Vice City. The story follows the protagonists, Lucia and Jason, as they become entangled in criminal conspiracies and large-scale heists across the open world.
