Japanese game designer and director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed the most memorable game project he has ever worked on.
During a recent interview with Famitsu (via Genki_JPN on Twitter/X), Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the most memorable game he has ever worked on is the original Kingdom Hearts, his first directorial venture. He mentioned that the project has become a life’s work for him, and that he never thought it would become such a long journey. “Kingdom Hearts has become my life’s work, so I can’t leave it out. I never imagined it would become such a long journey,” he said.
Nomura recalled making numerous visits to Disney headquarters for meetings and seeing many of the things discussed there become a reality over time. Referencing Disney slogans, he said hat it has truly become a land of dreams and magic for him. ““At the beginning of the project, I made numerous trips to Disney headquarters for meetings, and many of the things we discussed back then have come to fruition over time. It truly has become a land of dreams and magic,” he said.
Looking ahead, the Kingdom Hearts director said that there are still things he wants to achieve, and he asked fans to look forward to the next entry, Kingdom Hearts IV. “There are still things I want to accomplish, and we are trying something new in the 4th installment, so please look forward to it,” he stated.
