These patch notes for The Callisto Protocol update 1.12 were shared by Striking Distance Studios on Twitter. Aside from that, there don’t appear to be any major changes made to the game.
The last major update to the game added a new Hardcore Mode. It also brought a New Game Plus mode that was exclusive to this difficulty.
In Hardcore mode, players will face several challenges such as less ammo, health, and credits, and not all Biophages will drop loot. Enemies will inflict more damage and the Stun Baton will be less effective, while enemy mutation speed has increased, and the value of contraband has been reduced. Completing the standard Hardcore mode playthrough will unlock a New Game Plus mode, along with new achievements and trophies.
In addition to Hardcore mode, this update also included fixes for players who were not correctly granted the “The Protocol is About Life” achievement upon completing the game.
The Callisto Protocol is a new survival horror game developed by Striking Distance Studios and led by industry veteran Glen Schofield. It features stunning graphics and visual effects, but the gameplay falls short due to repetitive combat. The game follows ship captain Jacob Lee, played by Josh Duhamel, and Dani Nakamura, played by Karen Fukuhara, who are trapped in Callisto’s Black Iron Prison after their ship is overtaken by a terrorist group.
The Callisto Protocol is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
