Bethesda has officially revealed that its next mainline fantasy RPG will be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, confirming the game’s full title and unveiling its logo during a video celebrating the studio’s 40th anniversary. The announcement comes more than eight years after the game was first teased at E3 2018.
The reveal appeared at the end of an anniversary retrospective filmed outside Bethesda, Maryland, where the company originally began. After looking back at the studio’s history, Todd Howard turned his attention to the future, acknowledging that fans frequently ask about The Elder Scrolls VI.
He explained that the company’s 40th anniversary felt like the right occasion to finally share the game’s official name, revealing The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel alongside its logo.
The title also matches earlier rumors that suggested Bethesda was using Sentinel as the subtitle for its next Elder Scrolls game. Previous speculation had pointed to Hammerfell, the desert region of Tamriel, as a possible setting, which was later officially confirmed by Bethesda.
The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel remains without an announced release date. Development moved into full production after Bethesda Game Studios completed Starfield, while previous reports have suggested that the studio has been testing internal builds.
