The Last of Us Part 2 Update 1.03 To Reportedly Add Permadeath and New Difficulty
The Last of Us Part 2 is reportedly getting an update that will add permadeath mode and a new Grounded difficulty setting as seen in the leaked trophy list.
The Last of Us Part 2 trophy list has been updated and a new set of trophies has been added. These seem to apply to a new Grounded difficulty mode for the game. The trophies also mention permadeath mode which is currently not a part of the main game.
The trophy list can be seen on PSN Profiles. The following two trophies have been added to a separate “Grounded Mode” free DLC. These should not count towards the platinum so if you are worried about this ruining your Platinum run, there is no reason for it.
Have a look at the two different trophies for Grounded Mode DLC and how to obtain them below.
- Trophy Name: Dig Two

- Trophy Name: You Can’t Stop This

Naughty Dog had also released a Grounded Mode DLC for the original The Last of Us. This was a part of the remaster that launched later for the PS4. This is considered the ultimate difficulty for the game in which the “AI is relentless, smart, and brutal – survival will be near impossible.”
The Last of Us Part 2 has achieved critical and commercial success for Naughty Dog. They are currently working on a multiplayer mode for the game however details around how and when it will launch are still slim. The game was released for the PS4 on June 17. It will also support Sony’s upcoming next-generation console, PlayStation 5. It was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
