Valor Mortis console performance details have been revealed ahead of the game’s October 13 launch, with developer One More Level confirming dynamic 4K resolution and separate 30 FPS and 60 FPS modes on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The studio has also confirmed that Xbox Series S will include a 60 FPS Performance Mode, while PS5 Pro owners can expect enhanced visuals and higher resolution.
One More Level shared extended gameplay footage captured on a base-model PS5 and Xbox Series X, showcasing the game’s Quality and Performance modes. According to the developer, both consoles target dynamic 4K resolution in either mode, with Quality Mode targeting 30 FPS and Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS.
The studio noted that the footage was exported at 1080p because of capture hardware limitations, although it was uploaded to YouTube in 4K to improve video compression quality. As a result, the footage does not fully represent the resolution targeted by the game when running on the consoles.
The PS5 Pro version will offer higher resolution and improved visuals, although One More Level has not yet provided specific technical details about its enhancements. The developer has also confirmed the inclusion of a 60 FPS Performance Mode on Xbox Series S, but has not shared its resolution target.
Valor Mortis is an upcoming first-person action soulslike from One More Level, the studio behind Ghostrunner, and publisher Lyrical Games. Set in an alternate 19th-century Europe ravaged by a supernatural plague, the game follows a resurrected French soldier who must fight through the outbreak using sword combat and supernatural abilities.
The game launches on October 13, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day, with a trial planned for PlayStation Plus.
