WORLD OF HORROR version 1.2 is now available as a free update for all owners of the game on Steam, GOG and itch.io. The update introduces two new manifestations of the Old Gods, three playable characters and the long-awaited Scenario Mode, which adds self-contained stories set before the events of the main game.
The update also expands modding support through Steam Workshop, allowing players to create their own enemies, events and mysteries. Additional content includes new events, enemies, items, spells, curses and injuries, alongside balance changes, quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. The update is currently available on Windows and macOS, with console versions planned for 2027.

New Old Gods
- Added two previously unseen manifestations of the Old Gods that can be chosen to reign over Shiokawa.
- Added IKT-YOSIS, THE FIRST NIGHTMARE, who sleeps beneath the mountains and gradually reshapes the world above through strange weather and wrathful consequences.
- Added THE WAR FOR SHIOKAWA, featuring four cults and four eldritch masters summoned simultaneously.
- Players must face the chaos created by the four Old Gods and determine the town’s ultimate fate.
New Playable Characters
- Added three new playable characters to the roster.
- Introduced KIRIKO, a mysterious tarotist whose cards could determine the fate of the town.
- Introduced SATOSHI, a young hiker and enthusiastic explorer of the mountains.
Scenario Mode
- Added the long-awaited Scenario Mode.
- Introduced self-contained stories set before the events of the main game.
- Added the FOREST OF FEAR / TAPES OF TRAGEDY scenario.
- The scenario follows MAKOTO, an overachieving member of the school AV club who decides to film a documentary about the forest’s oldest legend.
- Players can discover what led to the gruesome ending of the FREAKY FEATURE OF FOUND FOOTAGE.
Expanded Modding Support
- Enhanced modding support through Steam Workshop.
- Players can now create their own enemies, events and mysteries.
- Added more tools for customising mysteries.
- Added support for custom UI and flags.
Additional Content and Improvements
- Added more events and enemies to encounters across Shiokawa.

WORLD OF HORROR was released on 19 October 2023 for PC, macOS, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game was developed by panstasz and published by Ysbryd Games and PLAYISM.
