Disney has lifted the social media restrictions on Captain Marvel so critics are finally sharing their first impressions of the movie. Find out what they have to say for this upcoming Marvel superhero movie.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers who becomes a superhero after gaining cosmic powers. It is set during the 90s and serves as a prequel to the current generation of Marvel superhero movies. Captain Marvel will also pave the way for Avengers: Endgame, which is out on April 26.

The first impressions of Captain Marvel from the critics seem to be positive so far. They praise the movie and call out its weirdness and how it tries to be different from other Marvel productions. These are just social media impressions and as we saw with Glass, reviews usually show a different picture.

So most of the critics seem to agree on the point that it is mostly an origin movie, so keep your expectations in check going into it. The movie will explore the origins of Carol Danvers and explain how she gets these power cosmic powers. It is also the solo women superhero movie from Marvel Entertainment, who were beaten by DC with Wonder Woman last year.
