The Witcher TV Show by Netflix is based on the books of the same name by author Andrzej Sapkowski. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is producing this TV series for Netflix. The release window for it was revealed recently by Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandso.
During investors call, Ted dropped the news that The Witcher TV series will be released in Q4, 2019. The story deals with the life of Geralt of Rivia who is hunting various monsters and struggles to find his place in the world. It was seen in a test screening that leaked online but other than that, there is no footage out for the TV series.
Netflix is investing a lot in original content in order to deal with competitors like the Disney+ service which will launch in November 2019. It is one of the biggest threats to Netflix due to its cheaper rate and a huge amount of content under the umbrella of Disney and Fox after their merger.
