Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update Reveals Valhalla New Game+ and Future Plans

by Greg Martin

Ubisoft has shared its Fall 2026 update on the Assassin’s Creed franchise, confirming that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive New Game+ on November 5. The update also covers the final major content update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, progress on upcoming projects, and plans for the franchise’s 20th anniversary in 2027.

The announcement was delivered by Jean Guesdon, Head of Content, who outlined the franchise’s current priorities and development plans. Ubisoft said its new Assassin’s Creed leadership team, led by Martin Schelling, has been working on the series’ long-term direction, with a focus on maintaining its identity, improving consistency, and developing new experiences.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets New Game+ on November 5

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla recently surpassed 40 million players. To mark the milestone, Ubisoft is adding New Game+ on November 5, allowing players to begin another playthrough of Eivor’s story while retaining much of their existing progression. The update also includes dedicated New Game+ scaling.

Additional features include an optional progression mode in which gear, runes, and masteries contribute to Eivor’s overall power. Players can also expect new runes, achievements, a stash system, and rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s appearance in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The update introduces Mithril, a new resource used to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes. Divine Gear quality will also be available for all items. Ubisoft said further details, including information on current-generation console updates, will be shared in the upcoming patch notes and additional announcements.

Black Flag Resynced Receives Its Final Major Update

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has received its final major content update following its launch on July 9. The update adds New Game+, Nightmare Mode, new rewards, finishers, trinkets, and further customisation options.

New rewards include Blackbeard’s outfit, Edward’s London attire, and additional customisation options for the Jackdaw and its crew. Ubisoft confirmed that this concludes its current plans for major additional content, although quality-of-life updates will continue over the coming months.

Invictus and Codename Hexe Updates

Ubisoft also provided updates on two projects still in development. Codename Invictus, the franchise’s upcoming multiplayer project, has undergone private testing with hundreds of players participating in an Insiders Session. Feedback on the prototype was positive, particularly regarding parkour, map verticality, team play, and the ability to play as different Assassin’s Creed characters.

However, players also wanted the experience to better reflect the series’ defining elements. Ubisoft said the team has spent recent months adjusting the project in response to that feedback. Invictus remains in development, and the publisher cautioned that information circulating online may be incomplete or outdated.

Meanwhile, Codename Hexe, described by Ubisoft as a darker Assassin’s Creed experience, continues to make progress. The company confirmed that its next major update on the project will arrive in 2027.

Ubisoft also clarified that no other Assassin’s Creed remake is currently in active development. The company said its teams are focused on upcoming titles, including projects that have not yet been announced, while leaving the possibility of revisiting older games open.

Netflix Series Nears Completion as 20th Anniversary Plans Take Shape

Production of Netflix’s live-action Assassin’s Creed series is nearing completion in Rome, Italy. Guesdon recently visited the set, consulted on scripts, and met with the show’s team. Award-winning composer Hannah Peel has also joined the production to compose its score. No release date has been announced.

Ubisoft is also preparing celebrations for Assassin’s Creed’s 20th anniversary in 2027. The plans will include announcements, updates, rewards, and community activities, with the publisher saying the anniversary will focus on players and their contributions to the franchise.

The company has also launched a new community survey to gather feedback on the series’ identity, storytelling, lore, and communication with players. Ubisoft plans to hold closed-door workshops with selected community members and content creators later this year to bring feedback directly to its development teams.
