Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received a release date thanks to the official placeholder trailer on YouTube.

Ubisoft recently announced that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is now named Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is currently set to debut during Ubisoft’s upcoming showcase. A cinematic trailer is planned to debut on May 15, and it is the source of the release date.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release Date and Platforms

According to the description of this trailer, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on November 15, 2024. The game is also set to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X. The listing appears to originate from the Ubisoft Store. The platforms are not yet confirmed by Ubisoft, but it is also possible that the PS4 listing is an error and this is a current-generation exclusive.

According to details around this upcoming game, it will feature a female assassin and appears to be set in feudal-era Japan. It is the first time Ubisoft has picked up this setting for a mainline console Assassin’s Creed game so fans are undoubtedly excited for it.

More details including gameplay will be revealed at a later date, during the Ubisoft Showcase that is planned for early June.

Ubisoft had announced Assassin’s Creed Codename Red along with other projects including Assassin’s Creed Infinity and Assassin’s Creed Hexa. This game is being developed by the same team that worked on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This studio has also worked on Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, which is another critically acclaimed game.

The last mainline Assassin’s Creed game Ragnarok was released during the launch window of PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. It was still a cross-generation release making Shadows the first time the series is going full current-generation exclusive.
