Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the fourteenth major entry in the long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise. Set in 16th-century Japan, the game explores the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order through two playable protagonists: Fujibayashi Naoe, a kunoichi (female shinobi), and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the real historical figure. Each character offers distinct gameplay styles, allowing players to approach missions in multiple ways.
The game was released on March 20, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and macOS, with an iPadOS version planned for a later release.
You can find more information about the game by reading our full review, which concludes: “Assassin’s Creed Shadows delivers a visually stunning and technically polished experience, featuring improved stealth and combat mechanics. However, its uneven narrative, repetitive side content, and lack of meaningful NPC interactions are drawbacks that hold it back.”
