According to the information gathered by the insider, Black Myth: Wukong is suffering from a memory Leak issue, which can cause significant crashes that could compromise the performance of Xbox consoles. As a result of this problem, the game has not passed Xbox certification and has, therefore, been indefinitely delayed until the development team at Game Science manages to optimize it for Xbox Series X|S.

The studio is already working hard to resolve this issue and pass the necessary bug detection tests. Game Science plans to announce a release date as soon as it gets approved. For now, it was said that the Xbox Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong is “close to being ready.”

The insider also shared that the Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong has already failed certification twice, which is why it has been delayed indefinitely. They were told that the certification process is very strict.

Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and PC. It is an action role-playing game with soulslike elements. It draws inspiration from the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. The player controls a monkey protagonist called the Destined One, based on Sun Wukong. The character wields a staff based on the Ruyi Jingu Bang from the novel, which can change size during combat. The staff offers three stances: smash, pillar, and thrust, allowing for diverse combat strategies.
