Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has claimed that Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Veronica and Resident Evil Zero remakes will have connections to Resident Evil Requiem.
Posting on ResetEra, Dusk Golem pushed back against claims that Capcom has a long-term strategy to remake the entire Resident Evil series and restructure its narrative around Requiem. According to the insider, there is no current plan to remake Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6, nor is there a broader initiative to remake every entry in the franchise.
“The original tweet I was quote tweeting is claiming Capcom has some plan to do a remake line leading up to Requiem and restructure the narrative as part of some long term plan. This is false,” Dusk Golem wrote.
He added that Capcom is not currently committed to remaking Resident Evil 5 or Resident Evil 6 and generally plans only a few years ahead before reassessing the franchise’s direction.
“There is no plan to remake RE5/RE6 right now, there isn’t some imitative to remake all the Resident Evil games specifically, and they aren’t thinking of tying this Remake line to Requiem specifically,” he said.
Despite dismissing the idea of a wider remake roadmap, Dusk Golem did claim that Resident Evil Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are connected to Requiem.
“Veronica and Zero Remake will tie into Requiem, but honestly that has a lot more to do with the fact they were in dev at the same time as Requiem than any master plan idea, and Requiem specifically sets up Veronica & RE:0 to tie more into itself.”
Resident Evil Veronica was officially announced during Summer Game Fest 2026 and is currently scheduled to launch in 2027. The remake reimagines the 2000 survival horror classic with modern gameplay and visuals, following Claire Redfield’s journey through a virus-ravaged prison island as she searches for her brother Chris while confronting Albert Wesker and the Ashford family.
Until Capcom provides further details, any connections between Resident Evil Requiem and future remakes should be treated as rumour and speculation.
