Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Veronica has already surpassed 1 million wishlists ahead of its planned 2027 release.
The milestone was revealed through the official Resident Evil social media account, which thanked fans for the strong early support. The company stated, “Deranged terror awaits the 1 million of you who have wishlisted #ResidentEvilVeronica. Thank you!” Capcom also noted that additional platform wishlist options will be made available in the future.
The figure currently appears to reflect wishlists gathered through PlayStation 5 and PC storefronts, with Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 wishlist support expected to follow. Reaching 1 million wishlists this early in development represents a strong start for the upcoming remake and highlights continued interest in one of the franchise’s most requested titles.
Resident Evil Veronica was officially unveiled during Summer Game Fest and is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Built using Capcom’s RE Engine, the remake is being developed by the team behind the acclaimed Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes.
The project reimagines the 2000 classic Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, which originally debuted on the Sega Dreamcast. The original game followed Claire and Chris Redfield as they confronted Umbrella’s operations across a remote prison island and an Antarctic research facility. It also introduced the Ashford family and marked the return of Albert Wesker, making it one of the most important entries in the series’ overarching storyline.
For the remake, Capcom is replacing the original’s fixed-camera presentation and tank controls with a modern third-person perspective. While the core story remains centered on Claire’s search for her brother Chris, the new version aims to expand character development, modernize gameplay systems, and deliver a significantly enhanced horror experience powered by current-generation hardware.
