During the discussion on the art of Sekiro, there was a quote from Miyazaki talking about Elden Ring. “Basically, I decide the thematic elements of the game first to develop the motifs and world view of the title. Now we’re in development for a game called ‘ELDEN RING’ which is larger and deeper than anything we’ve done before, ” Miyazaki is quoted in the video. “History, or mythos, we feel we’re challenging ourselves to make a game that deals with these two opposing [elements].”
The discussion was managed by Takashi Tokita, who is a veteran game developer, and Sayawaka, who is a game critic. While they didn’t have anything interesting to share, they talked about how Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin is working on the game. They mentioned how the upcoming Elden Ring can parallel the various thematic elements of Game of Thrones.

Elden Ring was first announced during Microsoft E3 2019 press conference. It has been missing in action ever since and there has been no update shared on the release date. From Software is still working on the game and any claims of the game being canceled were denied during the discussion on Sekiro.
The game will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Since there is no confirmed release date or even a release window, it is too early to say if this will come to the next-generation consoles.
