Marvel Studios delivered one of the biggest presentations of San Diego Comic-Con 2026, unveiling new details on Avengers: Doomsday, announcing a new Ghost Rider film, and confirming Black Panther 3 during its Hall H showcase led by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
The presentation opened with an extensive panel for Avengers: Doomsday, where Feige was joined by directors Anthony and Joe Russo alongside a large group of the film’s cast. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn and Tenoch Huerta Mejia all appeared on stage, while Hayley Atwell also confirmed she will return as Peggy Carter.
Fans attending the panel were also treated to exclusive footage from the upcoming film. As part of the presentation, everyone in Hall H received a Doctor Doom mask and cloak before Robert Downey Jr., who plays Victor von Doom, invited the audience to wear them during the showcase.
Marvel Studios also confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will bring together heroes from three different universes as they face a new threat. Alongside the actors appearing on stage, the film also stars Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, Kathryn Newton, Alan Cumming and Mabel Cadena. The film is scheduled to arrive exclusively in cinemas on December 18, 2026.
Feige then announced that a new Ghost Rider film is in development. Ryan Gosling will star as the supernatural anti-hero, while Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy will helm the project. Jonathan Tropper is writing the screenplay, and the film is currently planned for release in 2028.
The Hall H presentation also included a surprise appearance from Jon Bernthal, who discussed his return as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Attendees were shown an exclusive early preview of the film ahead of its theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
The event concluded with another major announcement as Ryan Coogler confirmed he is returning to direct Black Panther 3. Joined on stage by Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, Coogler revealed that the film will open in cinemas on December 15, 2028, before introducing David Jonsson as the franchise’s new Black Panther.
