Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Update 1.030 Rolls Out Today, Addresses Platinum Trophy Bug

by Ali Haider

Square Enix has released Final Fantasy VII Rebirth update 1.030 today with a download size of 4.9 GB, which is not a small patch.

This patch appears to follow the last major update that added a new Performance mode with a different visual setting. Previously, the performance mode was reported to be blurry for a lot of users, but the new patch added settings to fix this problem. It allowed users to tweak between a “Smooth” and “Sharp” setting which alleviated some of the complaints. You can check out a comparison between both modes.

Square Enix had confirmed that they were working on fixing a major bug with the game that was related to the Platinum trophy being unobtainable. This is fixed now with the new patch 1.030 that is available for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The Platinum trophy bug was related to a quest “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”. It was not possible to progress in the Ultimate Party Animal (UPA) Challenge for G-Bike. There was a high-score requirement of 32K to complete this challenge, but it failed to register and reward the players after the last major update. Players may need to fulfill these conditions again after updating. The new patch 1.030 has addressed this issue resolving any potential hurdles in getting the platinum trophy for FFVII Rebirth.

Additionally, bugs occurring in certain investigation reports have been addressed, along with issues preventing new courses from unlocking in the “Battle Simulator.” Another fix ensures that selecting options to increase favorability now properly raises favorability under specific conditions.

Moreover, the update resolves an issue where the trophy “Cactuar Master” couldn’t be obtained despite meeting the requirements. Various issues related to save data loading, including bugs causing the game to become unresponsive, have been fixed. The behavior when loading previous save data from the previous game has been adjusted to reflect the state of the last loaded data.
