Warner Bros. Interactive has shared the first gameplay footage of Mortal Kombat 11 on the Nintendo Switch. Here’s how the game looks when running on Nintendo’s portable console hybrid.

Mortal Kombat 11 will be out on April 26, 2019, but there was no proper gameplay footage shown for the Nintendo Switch which raised some concerns among the fans. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive has shared a trailer that offers a glimpse of the in-game footage from Mortal Kombat 11 as seen running on the Nintendo Switch hardware.

Interestingly enough, Warner Bros. Interactive has chosen to intercut the gameplay with high-quality pre-rendered movies from the story mode. The small amount of footage that can be seen running on a Nintendo Switch looks fine but nothing close to other console platforms.

Mortal Kombat XI will reportedly run on Unreal Engine 3 which has been modified by NetherRealm Studios. The game has received a visual facelift with the jump from Mortal Kombat X. Despite the lower power of the Nintendo Switch hardware, the game appears to run fine on it but there are visual cutbacks made in order to run it properly.

According to some reports, Mortal Kombat 11 will target 60 FPS on the Nintendo Switch but the frame rate hasn’t been confirmed since the game has yet to release on the platform. We do know the install size and there is a massive day one update for the game on the Nintendo Switch.
