Gears of War 5 has gone gold as confirmed by the developer The Coalition. The game’s single-player campaign footage will make its debut at Gamescom 2019.
Gears of War 5 was confirmed to launch in September at this E3. Microsoft debuted the multiplayer of the game during their press conference but they didn’t show any single-player footage. It was rated by ESRB after the E3 reveal and had a multiplayer tech test for a limited time.
From all of us at The Coalition, we couldn’t be more excited to share Gears 5 with the world. I want [to] thank the team here who has [sic] worked so hard for our fans, and we all hope you are all as excited as we are to play Gears 5,” said Rod Fergusson, Studio Head at The Coalition. “This is furthest we have ever taken the franchise, living our studio mantra of ‘if you want to go far go together’.”
Microsoft is also debuting the single-player campaign footage for Gears of War 5 for the first time at the upcoming Gamescom. It is supposedly one of the 16 world premieres that will debut at Opening Night Light on August 19. This event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley who confirmed this news over at Twitter.
