Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio’s action adventure game, God of War Ragnarok, is the next PS5 exclusive set for release on PC.
According to Dealabs, which is know for sharing reliable leaks, God of War Ragnarok is the next first-party PlayStation title set for release on PC. The website estimates that the PC port will be announced sometime during May, 2024. The release date is currently unknown, and is likely to be revealed alongside the announcement.
Given that Sony Interactive Entertainment has typically released PC ports of its major first-party titles around 2 years after their launch on console, the arrival of God of War Ragnarok on the platform is expected to happen nearer to November, 2024. That said, things may have changed, and we may see the PC port get released sooner rather than later.
It’s currently not clear whether the announcement of the PC version of God of War Ragnarok will happen during a potential PlayStation showcase/State of Play or via a PlayStation Blog post. During a recent episode of Giant Bomb’s Bombcast, Jeff Grubb, who is known for his sources within the game industry, shared that he had heard about a PlayStation Showcase event or a State of Play presentation happening this month. This would suggest that the announcement may happen during the presentation, as it would get greater coverage.
The Windows version of God of War Ragnarok is expected to launch with the Valhalla DLC that was recently added to the PS4 and PS5 versions. For the uninitiated, the DLC takes Kratos on a journey through Valhalla, as he encounters various challenges and delving into his past. The gameplay merges the game’s combat with rogue-like elements, ensuring a unique experience in each playthrough. The DLC introduces an array of temporary enhancements, such as Glyphs, Stats, Perks, and Runic Attacks, each adding a distinct flavor to every attempt.
