Hollow Knight: Silksong Officially Listed on Xbox Store, Receives ESRB Rating

Hollow Knight: Silksong has received a surprise listing on the Xbox store. ESRB also appears to have rated the game.

The rating and listing went up today, April 1st, and it was being promoted by the content and marketing manager at Xbox as well as the marketing manager for Hollow Knight: Silksong. Interestingly, the Xbox Store also reveals that the game has been rated by ESRB which signals a release date announcement soon. It has been rated E10+ for Fantasy Violence and Mild Blood.

The page store also confirms that this is an Xbox Playwhere game which means if you purchase it on the Xbox Store, you will be able to play it across Windows or Xbox consoles. It is listed for Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will also arrive on day one for Xbox Game Pass, and while the game is coming to all major platforms including PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4/PS5, there is still no release date set for it.

Hollow Knight is one of the most revered indie games that originally started as a Kickstarter project by Team Cherry. It launched to critical acclaim and garnered a huge fan following. The original pitch for Hollow Knight: Silksong was that it was supposed to be a downloadable expansion for the first game, but the project grew in scope and ambition thus leading to the creation of a proper successor.

Hollow Knight: Silksong does not have a release date yet, but it has been confirmed that it will be available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service when it launches. In this sequel to the award-winning action-adventure game Hollow Knight, players will take on the role of Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she explores a new land ruled by silk and song. The sequel was first announced in 2019.
