Milestone and Mattel have officially announced Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, a new arcade racing game set to launch on September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store. Players who purchase eligible editions will be able to begin racing early through an early access period starting on September 21.
The game was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026 with a debut trailer showcasing high-speed racing, large-scale environments, and the signature toy-inspired style that has become synonymous with the Hot Wheels brand.
Unlike previous entries focused primarily on track-based racing, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush introduces expansive environments that players can freely explore. The game features four themed islands connected through a world designed at Hot Wheels scale, allowing racers to leap between areas, uncover hidden collectibles, smash through obstacles, and discover activities beyond traditional races.
At the heart of the experience is a large vehicle roster featuring more than 150 cars. Vehicles are divided into four distinct classes, each offering different handling characteristics and upgrade paths. Players will be able to assemble their own “Rush Squad” from a mix of original Hot Wheels creations and licensed vehicles from real-world manufacturers, including Ferrari.
Multiplayer is also a major focus. Players can compete online through a variety of competitive modes, leaderboard events, and asynchronous challenges. Full cross-platform multiplayer support will be available across supported platforms, although Nintendo Switch 2 will not participate in cross-play functionality. Local multiplayer will also return, with split-screen racing supporting up to four players. On Nintendo Switch 2, races will feature up to six competitors.
Customization options have been expanded significantly in the new title. Players will be able to personalize vehicles using sticker and livery editors, while wheel customization is being added for the first time. The game’s track creation suite has also received major upgrades, allowing players to construct and share custom courses with new tools designed to take advantage of the larger environments.
One of the most notable additions is a ground-snapping system that lets creators place track pieces directly onto the terrain rather than relying solely on elevated structures. Custom tracks can also be populated with AI-controlled racers through action markers that define their routes. User-generated creations will be shareable across platforms, providing a steady stream of community-made content after launch.
Hot Wheels Infinite Rush races onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on September 24, with early access beginning September 21.
