LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight PS5 Comparison Shows Better Volumetric Lighting Than Xbox Series X

A newly released graphics comparison video for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has revealed performance and visual differences across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam Deck, and PC ahead of the game’s launch later this week.

According to the analysis, both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X include two display modes, while Xbox Series S is limited to a single 30 FPS mode. The report states that Series S also features noticeable visual reductions, placing it below the performance modes available on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The comparison notes that performance mode lowers shadow quality, lighting quality, and overall resolution in order to maintain 60 FPS. However, one of the more surprising findings is that the PS5 reportedly preserves more volumetric lighting effects compared to Xbox Series X in similar settings.

Steam Deck performance appears to be less stable, especially in Gotham City’s open-world areas. The analysis claims the handheld struggles to sustain 30 FPS on the Gotham map because of heavy CPU demands tied to the environment.

On PC, the game reportedly performs well on mid-range hardware. The video states that an RTX 3060 Ti can run LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight at 1440p on high settings with DLSS enabled, suggesting solid optimization on the platform.

Developed by Traveller’s Tales and published by Warner Bros. Games, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches May 22, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for release at a later date. The game retells Bruce Wayne’s journey across multiple eras while introducing a more combat-focused structure inspired by the Batman: Arkham series.
