A LEGO Batman Switch 2 vs PS5 comparison highlights several visual differences between the two versions, with the Nintendo console making noticeable compromises to resolution, textures, lighting, reflections, and environmental detail.
On PS5, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight offers a Quality Mode running at 2160p and 30 FPS, while Performance Mode targets 2160p at 60 FPS. The Nintendo Switch 2 version instead uses dynamic 1080p resolution and targets 30 FPS.
LEGO Batman Switch 2 Visual Differences
The Switch 2 version reduces several visual settings compared with the PS5 release. Textures are simplified, while anti-aliasing, reflections, and post-processing effects are also reduced. Screen-space reflections remain present, but the overall level of environmental detail is lower.
Lighting quality has also been reduced, alongside less detailed shadows. These changes give the Switch 2 version a visual presentation that is closer to the look of older LEGO games on PS4 and other previous-generation consoles, rather than the more detailed presentation seen on PS5.
The largest difference is the level of detail in Gotham City. The Switch 2 version features fewer vehicles and pedestrians, resulting in a less populated city compared with the PS5 version. This makes Gotham feel noticeably quieter and less lively during exploration.
Despite these reductions, performance remains close to the 30 FPS target on Switch 2.
