Marvel’s Midnight Suns Release Date, Editions, And Pre-Order Bonuses Revealed
2K and Marvel Entertainment have announced that Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set for release on October 7, 2022, and is now up for pre-order. The game is an all-new tactical RPG set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe, created by Firaxis Games, the iconic studio behind the highly acclaimed, world-renowned Civilization and XCOM games.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The game’s Nintendo Switch version will be released at a later date.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available for pre-order in four editions: Standard Edition, Enhanced Edition, Digital+ Edition, and Legendary Edition. Details regarding each edition can be seen below.
- Standard Edition: The Standard Edition will be available via Steam and Epic Games Store for £59.99/€69.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. It comes with the base game.
- Enhanced Edition: On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the Enhanced Edition will cost £64.99/€74.99. It comes with a next-gen optimized version of the game and five premium cosmetic skins for next-gen platforms.
- Digital+ Edition: The Digital+ Edition will be available via Steam and Epic Games Store for £69.99/€74.99 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. It comes with 11 high-end aesthetic skins.
- Legendary Edition: The Legendary Edition will be available for £89.99/€99.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC through Steam and Epic Games Store for £89.99/€99.99. It comes with 23 premium cosmetic skins as well as access to the Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass, which will be available once the game launches.
As seen above, multiple editions of the game are now available for pre-order, each featuring the Defenders Skin for Doctor Strange as a pre-order bonus. The base game and 35 hero skins will be included with every edition of Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
In Marvel’s Midnight Suns, players will assume the role of “The Hunter,” a customizable superhero created by Firaxis Games in partnership with Marvel for Midnight Suns. Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, and Nico Minoru are among the playable characters. The Hunter may be male or female, and his or her looks can be customized.
You’ll will be able to pick from over 40 distinct abilities for The Hunter’s superpowers. There will be 13 distinct heroes in the game, including The Hunter. Meanwhile, the combat will be turn-based, akin to the XCOM series from Firaxis Games. Players will manage and upgrade their base of operations, dubbed “The Abbey”, between combat missions, which they may stroll around in third-person view to explore and connect with other heroes.
