Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games’ rumored Marvel’s Venom “is very much still in development,” it is claimed.
Reliable insider Nate the Hate took to Twitter/X to respond to a question regarding the current development status of the rumored Marvel’s Venom, and whether it could receive an announcement at The Game Awards 2026 in December or sometime during Spring or Summer next year. In response, he confirmed that the game is still in development based on the previous update from his sources familiar with the project.
Furthermore, the insider currently doesn’t have information on when Marvel’s Venom will be revealed. “Venom is very much still in development upon last check,” he said. “As to when it’ll be announced, I don’t know.”
Back in April, Twitter/X user REDACTEDSpider, who posts news and updates on the Marvel and Spider-Man related projects, claimed that, at the time, Insomniac hadn’t finalized whether Marvel’s Venom would release as a cross-gen game similar to Miles Morales or shift toward a PlayStation 6 release that would connect directly into Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. “Internally it’s still being decided whether Venom will be a cross gen title like Miles Morales, or if it should be a PS6 title that will lead into Spider-Man 3 which will be a PS6 exclusive,” he stated.
During the same month, Allfather Productions developer LordHuffnPuff took to the ResetEra forums to mention that Marvel’s Venom was still in development based on what Insomniac Games discussed at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2026. His comment came in response to a contradictory statement from actor Nadji Jeter, who plays the role of Miles Morales in the Marvel’s Spider-Man game series. According to the latter, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC featuring Venom as well as a full game with the character in the lead were canceled due to the passing of actor Tony Todd. Much like LordHuffnPuff, Bloomberg investigative journalist Jason Schreier also denied Jeter’s claim.
